Your self-check answers

Self-check answers are scored in your browser. They are never sent to us or anyone else, never stored, and never included in web addresses or analytics. Analytics does not run on the self-check pages at all, even if you have accepted analytics cookies.

Analytics cookies

On other pages we use Google Analytics, through Cloudflare, to count visits and see which pages are useful, and to count clicks on the sponsored links on counsellor pages. It sets cookies, so it only runs if you accept analytics cookies in the banner. You can refuse, and you can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of each page. Refusing does not stop you using any part of the site.

The contact form

If you use the contact form, we receive what you type and the page you sent it from, and use it only to reply and to act on your request. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending it.

Links to BetterHelp

If you follow a sponsored link on a counsellor page, BetterHelp's own policies apply on their site. The link tells BetterHelp which counsellor page you came from, so that we can earn a commission. It does not include anything about you or any self-check.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes basic request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. Contact us through the contact form. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
